Steven - Book 2

Book 2 of Steven opens up the skin of the story and shows us the bloody meat inside. Steven finds himself in the middle of a war between vampire factions. One side represented by Detroit, the other by Windsor. Blaize and Steven's newest creation decide to rid Lansing of the Coven in Steven's honor. As their actions lead them inevitably forward, they learn more about who and what they are - perhaps more than they'd like.

Steven - Book 1

Book 1 of Steven takes us from memories of Steven's past, including his metamorphosis from human into vampire, into this world of cat-and-mouse with his creation, Blaize. There are other vampires in Steven's home city of Lansing, and Steven tests each one's worthiness to call themselves a blood drinker. The locals call themselves a coven, and they've never come upon anything like Steven before.

Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like to have a spastic artificial intelligence develop in a lab and then roam the 'net? What would happen if he learned the English language, manners, and the nuances of personality by parsing forums and newsgroups, all at once? Wouldn't it be cool if he could master concepts like sarcasm, but speaking in the first person was too complicated for him to handle? Everyone, meet Spax. He is the King of Wales.

Adam's Name - Michigan

The concept for Adam's Name came about from my desire to link a few of the short stories that I had already written. The thought that came to me was of a young man who, against his will, found himself pulled from the "real" world, and into various worlds of fiction. Motor City Mafia is the story in which Adam's journey into the strange begins. Here, we see the cavern and the silver lake for the first time. For contributing on the journal entries, I would like to thank Benny Crampton, Chris "Kaine" DeBoer, and Stephanie King. In Friends Forever, Adam begins his attempt to run from his own fate. Instead, he stumbles upon a ghost. In Witches, Adam is seduced by a beautiful goth girl. In Leaving Detroit, Adam is brought together with his faithful steed.

Todd and the Carnival

I had dipped my toes in the water of shared fiction in my first few entries in Dr. Celestine's Carnival of Souls, but I hadn't really gotten a sense of what I was doing. At my point of entry in the story, the carnies were obsessed with themselves and the focus had lost all relevance to the meaning of the Carnival. As the good Doc always said, all he wanted was for people to do their jobs.

During a lull in posting that lasted over a year, I decided that I had a story to tell. The story itself, were it not for the Carnival's capacity to change lives forever, would have been a few teen friends and their adventures in high school. Of course, all credit for Dr. Celestine's Carnival of Souls and its characters goes to Gilgamesh Taggett.
